Sr. FPGA Design Engineer

About the Role
As a Sr. FPGA Design Engineer, you will be developing FPGAs for use in video products. You will be expected to take a leading role in design decisions and development. You will also be responsible for some PCB board-level electrical design and testing, contributing to functional product specifications, and working closely in a team environment.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop FPGAs for video products as well as maintain and support existing products.
- Lead design and architecture decisions by acting as a subject matter expert for targeted technologies.
- Manage assigned tasks and schedules, and support others within the company as needed.
- Follow engineering standards and procedures for FPGA development.
- Work with a team of engineers to bring products to the video and controls industry.
What You Need
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5
years of Verilog HDL programming experience required. - Experience with both Intel (Altera) and Xilinx FPGA device families.
- Familiarity with using FPGA High-Speed SERDES features and DDR3/DDR4 memory interfaces.
- Experience with using FPGA embedded processors like Xilinx Zynq MPSoC and Intel SoC devices.
What is Nice to Have
- Experience in consumer and professional audio and video.
- Knowledge of the various video protocols such as HDMI, Display Port, DVI, and the various legacy analog video interfaces.
- Knowledge of video compression algorithms like H.264 and H.265.
- Knowledge of Tcl script-driven FPGA build processes.
- Ability to operate in a Linux build environment.

- Willing to work in an office in Richardson, TX.
- Able to travel 5% domestically and internationally.
- Able to successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
- This position requires the use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
