Staff Accountant

Basic Function
There is an immediate opening at Haynes and Boone, LLP for a Staff Accountant based in Richardson, Texas. If you are a results-driven individual who enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, this would be an ideal position for you.
Responsibilities include exposure to: financial reporting, tax reporting, internal audit, accounts payable, general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, AIS, analysis and special projects in the finance and accounting department.
Other Duties
Act as liaison between general accounting and other teams or departments as needed;
Perform related duties and other projects as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

Qualifications
Knowledge/
Experience:
A general knowledge of accounting processes along with a general understanding of the business functions is preferred.

Education
The Staff Accountant should hold a Bachelor's degree in Business with a major in accounting or business with at least 12 credit hours of accounting. The incumbent must hold a CPA or desire to be a CPA candidate.
Physical Demands
Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc. Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff. This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.
Working Conditions
Office Environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
