General Summary
Provide leadership and manage the work activities of Systems Engineering organization for Enterprise core cabling product lines (both copper and fiber). Work closely with senior management to establish product development goals while ensuring market compatibility through standard participation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Define cabling system requirements based on the anticipated application standards (IEEE 802.3, INCITS T11). Derive component requirements for product development. Validate system performance and set performance target/claim for our cabling offers. Work with cross-functional team including PLM, engineering, sales and marketing to ensure the success of product/solution launch. Represent CommScope in relevant external organizations application/cabling standards, R&D industry forums, trade associations, etc.) to develop/strengthen key relationships, track technology trends and anticipate/influence standard direction. Provide thought leadership to senior management to ensure product development projects are appropriately balanced according to the technology trends. Subject matter expert regarding relevant technologies and/or sciences. Integrates various technologies to create new technical capabilities that drive the need for high-performance cabling. Design technical demos, generate whitepapers/guidelines and develop technical content of battle cards to support sales and marketing activities globally. Provide highest level of technical support for cabling related issues. Work with Technical Managers and Quality Organization to resolve the field problems before/during/after installation around the globe. Build, justify, and manage resources including annual budgets, personnel, equipment and facilities to support new product development and key customer interactions Provide strategic leadership, supervision and coaching to effectively manage performance, engage and develop employees to reach their full potential. Foster an environment of proactive innovation to create value for customers and CommScope Enterprise Division
SKILLS REQUIRED
Masters degree in electrical engineering, fiber optic communications, or physics 10
years of R&D experience and proven accomplishments as a R&D team leader/manager in the optical fiber/connector, structured cabling, and/or high-speed networking industry Proven track record of successfully launching commercial products Highly developed diplomatic negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without formal authority. Coaching experience in a leadership or managerial role; Established track record in developing people Drive for results, bias for action, execution oriented, self-starter that likes challenges and rapid learning cycles Strong business acumen; exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills Domestic & International travel required ( 20%)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
