Our Direct client in Richardson, TX has an opening for a direct hire Data Warehouse Architect
Must have PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions knowledge/experience.
As a member of the Business Analytics and Reporting Team, the Data Warehouse Architect will assume a technical leadership role in the design, structure, and efficiency of the data warehouse.
Incumbent will work on assignments of a complex nature requiring a creative yet practical approach to software design and development; will apply principles, processes, experience, and expertise to complete, implement and analyze solutions for activities and projects. Shares information and effectively mentors ETL/Report development.
Contributes to requirements determination process, identifies and documents needs for changes to requirements. Develops conceptual, logical land physical data models to build effective solutions. Gathers and translates multiple business process and requirements into an enterprise business intelligence strategy and architecture. Facilitates modeling sessions and design walk-throughs with Business, DBA, and development team members Works with technical architects on infrastructure, database architecture and configuration, sizing and implementation of infrastructure supporting data warehousing.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field.
Exceptional knowledge of PeopleSoft Enterprise Project Management (EPM ) Data Warehouse (DW), and FIN/HCM data structures.
A minimum of 10 years experience in IT, 6
years experience specifically in data warehouse/decision support architecture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with DataStage, specifically pre-packaged PeopleSoft EPM data marts, App Designer, and associated Extract Transform Load (ETL) logic. Solid understanding of SQL and databases, indexing, partitioning, etc. Team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the IR department. Knowledge of both Inmon and Kimball data warehouse methodologies. Extensive knowledge of terabyte DW concepts, architectures, master data management and information delivery. Expert level knowledge of star schema design, and data modeling.
Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in MIS, CS or related field. Solid understanding of business (accounting, budgeting, purchasing, etc) processes and/or education institutions; Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions data structures; Presentation layer tool experience, including OBIEE/Answers, Experience with Essbase, Analysis Services desired; Perl, and Shell scripting expertise is a plus.
Minimum Responsibilities Review and enhance the current infrastructure and data warehouse strategy. Participates in definition of business intelligence architecture for clients migrating from operational reporting to data warehouse. Design and develop data models utilizing conformed dimension star schemas based on business requirements. Builds data flow diagrams with metadata documentation and delivery. Designs and may participate in development of ETL processes to move information from source systems into the EPM environment. Participate in DW related projects, from business needs analysis through production delivery, acting as the technical architect for the rest of his/her department. Participate in all Business Intelligence (BI)/DW projects, software decisions, and architectural changes with detailed impact analysis. Ensure appropriate documentation is created and delivered.
