The Legal Department is looking for an experienced professional to be part of a small team tasked with developing the firms consumer and small business lending capabilities.
This position offers opportunity to work closely with the business teams and colleagues throughout the firms legal, compliance, marketing, credit, operations and technology functions to develop and maintain servicing, and collections strategies and communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
Qualifications:
Responsibilities Provide legal advice with on servicing and collections strategies Research federal, state and local laws relating to servicing and collections Develop and review customer communication templates Review consumer complaints with legal and regulatory impact and assist in developing responses Review call center agent procedures and training materials for compliance with applicable law Monitor state and federal consumer finance developments with a primary focus on servicing and collections Assist business with filings in response to consumer and small business bankruptcy process Assist in the negotiation and management of key vendor relationships Assist in the development and management of regulatory disclosures Work with Compliance colleagues to facilitate remediation activities Opportunity to work closely with lawyers from other divisions regarding consumer and small business finance transactions Basic Qualifications Knowledge of and direct experience with federal, state and local consumer finance laws and regulations including relating to servicing and collection, including but not limited to, the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act and state corollaries and laws and regulations prohibiting Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts or Practices and state corollaries, the Telephone Consumer Protection A, and secured transactions (including self-help and lien priority analysis) under Article 9 of the UCC Experience drafting consumer communications and responding to consumer complaints Experience reviewing call center procedures, training, and call scripts Knowledge of consent orders relating to servicing and collections and formulating strategy changes in response to same 3
years of relevant experience required in a leading law firm or financial institution Team player with inherent commercial judgment and strong analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational / project management skills Superb oral and written communications skills High level of initiative, integrity, and organization ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS:
