Optical Transport Engineer
An employer is looking for a Transport Engineer in the Richardson, TX area.
Your primary role will be to define, engineer and resolve network capacity requirements for the client's long haul and metro transport network, utilizing high capacity lightwave/ wave division multiplexing technologies to monitor network services capacity, vulnerability and growth requirements.
You will be managing multiple projects simultaneously, and ensure all milestones and SLAs are met.
Additional tasks will include network planning, performing detailed equipment engineering for network augments, ensure all work meets engineering standards and manage/ update the network inventory database to reflect new builds.
Minimum Requirements3
years experience with transport/ optical fiber technologiesStrong experience with Ciena, Cisco or Fujitsu transport equipmentDWDM, ROADM, GPON or SONET experience Network planning experience Detail engineering experience (preferred) Desired SkillsFTTP ICON experience Calix, Frontier or Zayo experience Recommended Skills Cisco Engineering Optical Fiber Cabling Passive Optical Networks Wavelength Division Multiplexing Synchronous Optical Networking Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
