The Equipment Engineering Team at Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center drives competitiveness in optical components, assemblies, and systems now and in the future. We are responsible for performing all equipment innovation, selection, troubleshooting and maintenance to lead the organization in delivering a quality product on time, at or below cost, in a safe environment. An opportunity currently exists within the Operations R&M (Repair& Maintenance) Team for a Calibration Technical Support Associate. The successful candidate will be directly involved in proactively addressing equipment needs of the factory by working with engineering and maintenance teams to successfully perform daily operations and maintenance activities. This includes maintenance of equipment, machinery, and other functions specific to Optics manufacturing. This individual will be responsible for complying with health and safety standards in the community and adhering to OSHA and other federal guidelines. The individual will report to the Manager of Operations Repair & Maintenance. o Collaborating with Engineering, Program Management, Operations, & Quality business leadership and all Optics CMC functions and proactively addressing equipment needs to meet current and future business needs. o Enabling the factory to execute to these needs on time and at or below cost in a safe environment by o Creating innovative solutions for improving equipment uptime and process times, including the design and creation of custom hardware and software as needed. o Working with facilities and engineering teams to lead installs of new equipment and upgrades of existing equipment. o Modeling Raytheon values, customer focus, solution oriented, excellence in execution and a sense of urgency and encouraging the same within the rest of the organization. o Calibrates tools, Inspection, Test, & factory equipment in accordance with industry and company practices o May include:
testing, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, computer, laboratory, and scientific systems and/or equipment. o Calibration of equipment, tools, and instruments across four factories in one location:
Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning, Optical Coating and Assembly/Test. o Collaborating with and working alongside a team of experienced equipment technicians to support, calibration or preventative maintenance. o Utilizes various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks. Required Skill Set :
o Minimum of 8 years of professional relevant experience in calibration of tools, instruments, and equipment in a production or factory environment. Background in electronics, mechanical aptitude, ability to solve complex technical equipment problems and strong troubleshooting skills. o Ability to work from schematics, written procedures, and oral instructions o Must be able to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions. o Mathematical aptitude to work with SI Units, derived units, multipliers, and conversions. Able to use algebra and geometry to solve for the unknown. o Understands Traceability Standards and Hierarchy o Identify and apply common elements of calibration procedures and can write calibration procedures for new equipment. o Flexibility to work 2nd and/or 3rd shifts when/if needed. Desired Skills Set :
o ASQ - CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) or similar certification o Proven history of demonstrating initiative, persistence, and creativity in problem solving o Prior experience with Optical Coating (vacuum) and Diamond Point Turning equipment. o Excellent oral and written communications with ability to work with minimum direct supervision. o Ability to collaborate and influence development of project objectives and goals with external customers and internal stakeholders. o Knowledge of the optics industry. o Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment. o Operates well as part of a team and can work overtime on occasion. Education Qualification :
Associates Degree Provide systems engineering technical support, system security engineering technical support and recommendations of technical tasking assignments for the systems engineering functions Utilize systems engineering to support test activities Resolve technical product issues with product development engineering Provide technical support for common problems Provide test and evaluation technical support, systems analyst/subject matter technical support and systems software test and evaluation support Provide technical support of specialty gas equipment Provide specialized engineering and support Leading the engineering team responsible for the engineering support functions Provide technical support on a variety of issues Demonstrate understanding of technical support in business Serve as a general technical support specialist Providing drafting and technical support to the design engineer to whom Perform engineering analysis to support plant changes Communicate all technical issues to customer Propagate vendor expertise across the technical support teams Provide technical expertise on troubleshooting electrical equipment Provide technical support to suppliers, customers, field service and customer service Ensure project's performance technical issues Developing both technical and procedural solutions to support ongoing production Provide first level support and technical issue resolution for customers Recommended Skills Calibration Technician Manufacturing Measurement And Signature Intelligence Apply to this job.
